Pedestrians Injured By Building Collapse In The Bronx July 01, 2007
A woman and two children were injured when part of a parapet wall collapsed and fell off a roof at the Grand Concourse and East 182nd Street in the Bronx this morning.
It happened just after 8 a.m. at a pharmacy at 2274 Grand Concourse in Tremont. Part of a barrier wall on the buildings roof collapsed and bricks on top of the roof fell to the street, hitting the three victims.
A ten-year-old boy had to have his leg amputated at St. Barnabas Hospital, and a 12-year-old boy suffered a collapsed lung, head injury and broken leg.
A woman was also treated for unknown injuries.
The pharmacy was closed at the time, and no one was hurt inside the building.

The beginning of summer always seems to have a lot of building & wall collapses... We had one in our town about two weeks ago...
Its horrible when these things that are supposed to be permanent "aren't" -- cuz theres a lot of em in the Bronx & all of NYC!!!
I hope the mom & her kids are starting to do better!
