Now here's a place we all remember. Sears & Roebucks located on Fordham Road where the building splits Park Avenue and Webster Avenue. It's also known as the Rogers building. My dad bought my first Schwinn 26" bicycle there for my 11th birthday. It had a horn and even had turn signals. It was a beautiy but it got stolen a few weeks later. I think Sears and Alexanders was everyone's favorite place to shop.

Sears closed their store at that corner several month ago. Since that time, they have re-thought their decision and will renovate and re-open the flagship store. That corner would just not be the same without SEARS anchoring it.

Don't shop at Sears ever anymore. Only got aggravated and bad customer service and would leave angry every time so I just avoid the place now. Many stores have better goods, better prices and nicer sales staff.

There are times when I go to Sears at the Countryside Mall and find customer service and emplyoees very professional. Then again, I can go to another location and find it to be just the opposite. This could be true of any department store.
If I am ever treated rudely by any employee, I make it a point to write a letter or speak to the manager to let them know that a certain employee needs a refresher course in public relations.

Many stores have better goods, better prices and nicer sales staff. I've always liked the Sears Craftsman tools. In the past, I've even tested them on their lifetime warranty- they paid off! I would still, automatically, buy a Craftsman tool before any others. I've also had some auto repairs, tires and batteries at Sears - I think they were ok for that. Kenmore appliances used to have a pretty good rep, but it's been years since I looked into that. I don't think I've ever used Sears for anything else.
