My Mom was watching the movie last night and said she would love to read the book. So, this morning, I went on line to Barnes & Noble to order it for her. Was I surprised when they said that this item was restricted from being shipped to my address? Wonder Why

Or have you been the victim of identity theft and got on some list to be contacted personally before they ship anything?

I called them and they said it's a glitch in the system. Then I called the store directly, and they will put a copy on the side for me. It's the last copy they have, so I'm off.

OK - got the book. My Mom is the hardest person on my list. Now it's all downhill from here.
We all draw a name on Thanksgiving day, and then you are that person's Secret Santa. We also have a "master wish list", so you know you will be getting something the person wants. Of course, we all buy for my Mom and the little ones, and I usually buy for my children.
I drew my sister's name this year. Her list consisted of gift cards to various stores, gloves and crystal jewelry. I can do that.

Which movie was she watching the one with Leonardo DiCaprio or the original with Louis Hayward?

I can't even watch the movie. I can't breathe seeing them in the iron mask. I think I'm closetrophobic (SP)

OK - update - Mom said she was going to go the library to get the book. I called her local library and they do have it. All right, I told a white lie - I called Mom and said the library didn't have the book.

Sometimes you need to do things like that. I'm sure she will love getting the book for Christmas.

I am watching this movie right now on TCM. Filmed gloriously in black and white. But as I have read in another thread about this movie, Warren William shines in his role as Philippe D'Artagnan. Warren William, in my humble opinion, was the heart throb of the 1930s and 40s. So handsome and his voice like honey. Okay, I'm being dramatic here, but I have watched so many of his movies on TCM and I am so enamored of him. One of the greatest actors of his time, it is amazing to me that he is so unknown today. In my opinion, he ranks up there with the greatest actors of his time, along with Gary Cooper, Bogart and the like. This movie is a treasure. And so is Warren William!
