This may or may not be interesting to you, but what they hey, its something I spent some time making, so you may find something interesting in there... www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVPzxuz8qAQHeres the description of the video... On July 8th, 2004, my friend and co-writer Leon Leybs and I premiered our first documentary "Out of Our Dens - The Richard and the Young Lions Story". It was at the Pioneer Theatre in New York City (also known as Two Boots Theatre) It was a tremendous day for me and Leon - The theatre holds about 150 people, and we had a little over 200 people.. The theatre was cool about it, and we had people sitting on the floor watching it... For first-time filmmakers, it was pretty freaking awesome... Well, my equally awesome niece & nephew Heather & Patrick filmed the events of the day, and the tapes sat around until days I needed a mental boost where I would watch em and remember how great that day was.. I was watching the clip the other day and I guess I heard the right song earlier in the day, and decided to make a short highlights clip of the show... So over the last two nights, I imported the clips and made the video above... Hope you Enjoy it! James

Thank Mike & Lou! Lou thanks for asking! The movie was about a band from Newark & Livingston, NJ called Richard & the Young Lions... They were discovered by Bob Crewe and were on the same label as Frankie Valli and Mitch Ryder... They had a song "Open Up Your Door" which made it to #1 in Detroit (and in top 5 in Cleveland, Seattle, Bakersfield, CA and a few others) during Summer 1966.. When the song got to their home area of NYC, there was a Radio Disc Jockey strike that Summer which was a big factor in it not going national... The record was played on NY Air Waves, but nobody knew who it was that sang it... In Sept 1966, it reached #99 on the national charts, and stalled... Eventually they faded away... In 2000, there were a few coincidences that brought the band back together and they played this big Garage Rock festival called Cavestomp and got the attention of Steven Van Zandt, who really pushed them and they played to some great reception... They finished a new Cd that was set to come out when my movie was released in July 2004... *this is where my movie ended... However, a few weeks before all of this, lead singer "Richard" died... And it kinda screwed everything up... They might be back on track now as the CD should be released in a few months, and there will be a big marketing push behind them... Cross your fingers for them! (and me LOL) The trailer is at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QS7WTH_LQgand everything else about it can be found at Lantern-Media.com or RichardandtheYoungLions.com
