Well, Monday I went down to the Bronx and moved my step-mother back into her apartment from the nursing home. Today I went down and moved her back to the nursing home. She gave up the apartment and will remain in the nursaing home. I have finally gotten to say good-bye to the old neighborhood for good. I'm sure not going to miss it. I've had ties to the neighborhood for almost 57 years. It felt good to say good-bye finally.

As painful as this was to say a final goodbye, I'm sure your stepmom will be in a much safer environment where her needs can be addressed.

It is better for your step-mom to be in a safe environment. It does break the heart but try to visit as often as you can and assure her that you love her. God bless.

I live outside of Smalbany in a town called Guilderland. My step-mom is in a place called the Bronx center for health and rehabilitation. It is located on Underhill Ave. between Watson Ave and Bruckner Blvd. And you guys are right, it's the best place for herr. She likes the people there and said the food is delicious.

Herb................I hope your Step-mom does well. The name of the nursing home seems familiar. I think that's where my Grandmother was.
My Mother is in an assisted living facility in Long Island called Atria. Since I'm in Indiana, I get to see her about three times a year for a few days each time we come to New York. If it's any consulation, she does well there. They do everything for her.
At least you know your Step-mom will get good care in the nursing home. I know my Mom does.

Well, I'm sure that she is in a good facility and when she came back yesterday she had a whole crowd of people welcoming her back. That wasn't the case when my father was in a nursing home off of Pelham Parkway. I was constantly fighting with the social worker and the director. It reached a point where they were going to inform the security guard not to let me in. I never got a chance to challenge them as my father died a short time after that. That place was horrible.
