[glow=red,2,300]WOW!!![/glow] The house I sold for $60,000 in 1982, (25 years ago) is now worth $513,000 (give or take a few thousand). But on the other hand, the condo I bought for $120,000 4 years ago is now worth $219,000.

Mike, a house on Briggs Ave between 196th & 197th is currently being sold for $675,000 -- TO A FAMILY MEMBER AT A BIG DISCOUNT... Its a two lot house that is a house and parking lot now, but could easily fit an apt building...

That's a great site, Mike. I looked for the three family house I lived in on Wheeler Ave. It wasn't listed but some other ones were. Since all the homes located on the upper part of the block were three family houses that were built the same, I guess the house is worth somewhere between 4 and 5 hundred thousand. That's not a bad price for the house but it's a neighborhood I wouldn't want to live in for any price.

James and Herb...all I can say is that I hope the nabe is starting to turn around to support real estate values like that....the NY Times painted a pretty ugly picture of the area 2 years ago.
James...every time I look at that article, I understand why you never wanted to venture east of Marion Ave ;D
