Is it just here in West Florida or is it where you live too? The number of roadside memorials is growing every week due to young teenagers getting killed in car accidents because of speeding and recless driving. You can't travel a mile without seeing these roadside memorials complete with pictures, teddy bears, cards, flowers and wreaths.
It is at epidemic proportions here and now the schools in conjunction with the Sheriff's Departments are stepping up their efforts to educate kids about driving responsibly.
A week doesn't go by without hearing of another school aged teen dying in a car accident.
Is it also bad where you live?

My sentiments exactly. I think kids today are to imature to drive at 15. Unfortunately, those that are have to suffer for the bad choices and decisions of others. No license until you are 18.

They are all over Jersey. Just about every 5 miles or so. Very sad situation with most young drivers.

WHEN I BECOME 'EMPEROR' THE FIRST THING I WILL DO IS BAN CELL PHONES IN CARS, WHETHER YOUR DRIVING OR A PASSENGER.
RECENTLY FIVE BEAUTIFUL TEEN GIRLS WHO JUST GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL WERE ALL KILLED, THEY SAID THEY WERE CALLING AND TEXTING MESSAGES ON THE STINKING CELL PHONE. IM NOT SURE IF IT EVEN WAS THE DRIVER OR NOT BUT THEY ALL WERE DISTRACTED BECAUSE OF THE CELL PHONE SHENANIGANS.
IT WAS SICKENING TO READ THIS STORY. TRULY WASTED LIVES. GOD BLESS THEIR SOULS AND GOD BLESS THEIR GREIVING FAMILYS.

MIKE THE WORRYING NEVER STOPS, WE ARE STILL WORRIED ABOUT OUR GRANDCHILDREN. WE ARE SWEATING OUT THE RESULTS OF OUR GRANDSON SCOTTYS RECENT ACCIDENT WHERE HE HAD THE TIP OF HIS FINGER CUT OFF IN SCHOOL. WE ARE PRAYING THAT THE REATTACHMENT WORKS BUT IT DOESNT LOOK GOOD, HES IN A LOT OF PAIN STILL, HE CALLED US LAST NIGHT TO TELL US TO STOP WORRYING SO MUCH.
THATS A GOOD TRICK IF YOU CAN DO THAT. PLEASE PRAY FOR SCOTTY 16 YEARS OLD, A REALLY WONDERFUL GRANDSON WHO CALLS US REGULARLY.
THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS.

Yeah....just as we think the worrying is over as parents......then comes the grandkids.
Jimmy, you are right about cell phones while driving. I would venture to say that with alot of the accidents these days, the driver was on the cell phone.
It's even worse with teenagers because thy are inexperienced as it is. They don't need the distraction of the cell phone.
I saw a teenage girl last week holding her cell phone with one hand and eating with the other while her knees were steering the car.
