This game was unexpected but I do have tickets to 3 more games. I'm thinking about getting rid of them.
Only kidding

That would be what's referred to in baseball as a real squeeze play!

Saturday is old-timers day at the stadium. Tonight they were announcing the names of some of the old-timers appearing. There aren't too many left from the 50's-60's Yanks any more. Barry, did you stay long enough to see that young kid strike out the side to end the game? What a thrill for this kid in his first major league appearance. He may totally stink for the rest of his career, but he had his 15 minutes of fame in THE BRONX!

Yes I saw that. Speaking of 15 minutes of fame. A guy named Bobo Holloman pitched a no hitter for the Saint Louis Browns in 1953 his 1st major league start in 1953. I don't believe he ever won another game.

Can you picture how frustrating and embarrassing that must have been? I hope this kid tonight does well. He had some magic on some of those pitches.

I don't believe he ever won another game. a formula to calculate how likely a pitcher is to pitch a no-hitter. Based on that formula, Bobo Holloman was the second least likely pitcher in major league history to pitch his no-hitter. Lack of control was obviously Bobo's big nemesis as he went down in history as the only pitcher to throw a no-hitter and never see another Major League season. See Expected No-Hitters. Holloman pitched in the minors from 1946 to 1954.
