As much as I am happy to see the Bronx making a comeback, I'm afraid that the working poor and middle class will not be around to enjoy it. The very same scenario happened on the Upper East Side of Manhattan back in the 80's. Today you cannot even rent a STUDIO apartment for less than 1,200 a month.

I think the rent on the upper east side would run about $ 2,500.

Before moving to the Bronx at age 6, my family lived on 85th between 2nd and 3rd......2 bedrooms, 4 story walk up and no doorman.
