Wow, lougee, I have to say I'm impressed.
I should come clean and say that for many years I worked for one of America's stalwart liberal organizations -- we were always told to be scrupulous and keep things above board, but as time went on, I watched the place devolve into utter hypocrisy -- I don't know whom to believe any more.
And, now, as another presidential election approaches, I watch the Democrat antics with morbid fascination. They've already shot themselves in the foot (feet?) with the "General Betray Us" ad (no matter what one thinks of his veracity). And if political consultant Bob Schrum (the Democrat counterpart to Karl Rove) gets involved in the campaign again, it will be a certain Republican victory. There's no point in even stepping into the voting booth, I gave up years ago with the Democrat incompetence. But, on the positive side, perhaps we can all be proud that a woman is a viable frontrunner for the Presidential nomination, with the candidacy of John Edwards.
I wish something could be done with the healthcare insurance mess, especially every month when I write a staggering check for my health insurance. It's something that needs to be taken care of -- at least I have the financial resources to pay for it, when millions of others don't. Anything that the Federal government does cannot be as bad as the complete idiots and utter incompetents that I put up with at the health insurance company, I never seen such incredibly stupid people in my life. I note with irony that those politicians debating the health-care issue are all covered by a massive and efficient Federal health plan.
But, most of all, it's unfortunate that there's all this mean-spirited carping between conservatives and non-conservatives. Heck, I've known conservatives who are perfectly wonderful people who had good ideas.
As mentioned on this board by others, the money power in the liberal world is concentrated in too few hands, and that is not good.
