Yeah, but at least with the Yankees I can say "What a lousy game they played tonight; I hope they improve a lot tomorrow night." and not upset my husband!

If you insist on remaining in the GOP, here’s what you MUST believe… Gee Lou, I'm not sure I have the stamina to go through all of this old ... , line by line, but I'll try First, no, you don't HAVE to believe any of that tripe (or good stuff). The GOP is open to diverse views, unlike the Dems who shunned their VP candidate because he didn't tow the line on national defense- Joe Lieberman, probably the most honorable man in the Dem Party. Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton. I Have no clue where you get this from, but it does sound very anti-Christian. Are you sure you want to make statements like that? A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, At one time, I was pro-abortion. Until I found how many were being done (at the time I checked, about 1/3 of all pregnancies were being aborted). Then I had to decide that they were or were not innocent lives being killed. Took a long time for me to decide that abortion is wrong, and should be opposed. But it is not an issue I feel comfortable ranting about. Do you? but multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all humankind without regulation. A bit of hyperbole there, but ok, coming from moveon.org, why not. I'm unaware of any lack of regulation on corporations, or individuals, affecting all humankind. Or the imposition of new regs when a malfeasance is perceived. If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex. Why would anyone believe that it is for the schools to hand out condoms?? Isn't that the parent's responsibility? You kept a condom machine in your bathroom, didn't you? Those quarters paid for my kids education! A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense, wjc lied to a Grand Jury, under oath, in a case where he was being sued for retaliating against a state worker for refusing to have sex with him. A Grand Jury, under oath. You thought Libby should serve jail time for less, no? I have to admit, that when Willy gave his "I didn't have sex with that woman..." speech I was convinced. He is the most convincing liar I've ever seen. A real talent. but a president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy. If Bush lied (i.e., knowingly told a falsehood), then so did all of the Intell sources in the Mid East and Europe, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, and most of the Dem Party. The fact that the wmds were not found in the quantities expected (some WERE found) does not mean they didn't, or don't, exist. I personnally think they're in Syria, but what do I know.... Or maybe Saddam pulled off one of the greatest charades in history. But there were other reasons to depose that SOB. Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him, and a bad guy when Bush needed a Bin Laden diversion. This is really cute. Rather than go through the true history with you, why don't you just tell us why YOU think Saddam was a good guy (or a bad guy) unworthy of being deposed after 9/11? Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is Communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony. Why does Cuba need to trade with us? They're a self-sufficient Communist state that nationalized (stole) billions of US investments, and strongly called for the USSR to nuke the US. Cuba has also been exporting revolution around the world- if they needed our trade, they couldn't afford to do that. Cuba also has about the same population, climate and resources as a number of countries that get along quite well with minimal US trade (Greece, Portugal, come to mind, but there are many others). It's not the lack of US trade that is holding Cuba back, it is their gov't. A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time allies, then demand their cooperation and money, You must be talking about Fr and Russia? Long time allies? You're kidding, right? BTW, as it turns out (you may not have heard) that FR, Russia and Germany, and the head of the UN among others were making billions with Saddam's so-called "oil for food" program - no wonder they fought so hard against us. Interesting that new heads of state of both FR and Ger are trying to rectify the damage done by their predecessors. and the best way to improve military morale, is to praise the troops in speeches, while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay. Funny, I honestly don't think I've seen higher morale in the nearly 40 years of my association with the military. But the Dem Congress is where the military is being screwed these days. There also seems to be a lot of angst over the prospect of another Clinton administration (esp with Soros, moveon, code pink, etc, pulling the strings). But maybe that's just me.... Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy, but providing health care to all Americans is socialism. Huh? First, health care IS provided to all Americans (and illegals). And Hillary didn't get her "program" sold to the country - why would anyone trust her to do the same thing again with a different result- that's the sign of insanity. The stuff about Iraq is just nonsense... HMOs and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at heart. Hmmm, with all of the "procedures" I've had in the past 12 years, yeah, I think so. And apparently many Canadians, Brits, French, and even Jordanian kings seem to think so also- they come here for their critical care. Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, Er.... YEAH!!!! Don't you think so? (I know many Dems don't, but gee, Lou, not YOU???) which apparently includes banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet. I've not heard any Republicans saying they want to censor the internet. But I believe both Tipper Gore and Edwards wife have made attempts at censorship (of CDs and such). To say nothing of PC movement on campus' (Donna Shalala is a big fan of speech censorship on campus- check her out). As for gay "marriage"? That's like quibbling about what the meaning of "is" is. Oh wait, Dems do that too. Nevermind... The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, Gee you're not curious about how Hillary turned $1K into $100K in her one, and only, trade in the commodities market (it was pork bellies, IIRC)? Couldn't have been a bribe, I know. Or was it? Hmmm. but Bush's driving and service record is none of our business. It seems Bush's driving record was made public, wasn't it? As for his military record, that was made public by Dan Rather, wasn't it? Oh wait! Rather forged that. Still looking for Clinton's military record, and Kerry's, AlGore's and ... oh well.... BTW, Bush flew air defense missions in F102s (a lousy airplane, btw) in the Air National Guard for at least 4 years active duty, logging over 300 hours of flight time. Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host—then it's an illness and he needs our prayers for his recovery. It is a moral failing, a crime, and an illness, needing prayers for recovery, no matter who you are. Rush has recovered quite well, thanks to our, yours and mine, prayers, hasn't he. BTW, medical records are sacrosanct, and protected by law, are they not. Unless you're a conservative talk show host being pursued by a Left wing DA, apparently. global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are both junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools. Well, human-caused global warming, a la algor, is, clearly, junk science. Nutsy, to the max. But subject of another thread some day. As for creationism, I don't think I've seen the GOP advocating that. I have seen Dems advocating all sorts of junk science as fact, and even well respected THEORIES as fact. Among many other things of questionable substance (Socialism, etc). Heck, they even had a ballet dancer at their convention explaining how only fetal stem cell research could give us cures for all mankind's ills. Do you remember that!? Let me know if I missed anything here. It's been a while since I played with this particular spam, but always willing to discuss the issues with rational people.

Thanks Fran and Phylis. Always happy to clarify/correct the misconceptions, mis-perceptions and mis-characterizations of the Far Far Left. And we're going to see a lot more of this .... in the coming joyous election season. Soros is funding them big time, and leading them around by the leash..... "Jose, can you see...."

MaryLou, I don't watch award shows anymore but I wish I had seen it if only to see what Sally Field.....you really like me.....had to say. I am so tired of the politicalization of these shows!!!

She literally screeched at the audience and ranted something about if mothers ruled the world (or the war, I couldn't be sure what she said), there would be no g.d. wars and blah, blah, blah, etc. If there was a point, and if it made sense, then OK, whatever, just another celebrity taking advantage of a microphone and the podium. Susan Sarandon or Vanessa Redgrave or Sean Penn, anyone?

Right on Barry...they never showed up at my job to see anyone get an award. And to go to a theatre today to see one movie you have to take out a loan....they'd all starve if it was up to me... and that goes for sporting events today. Between parking, having a snack or beer and buying a ticket to a ballgame you need to take out a second mortgage, especially for a family of four. It's really sad today for families to find a reasonable source of entertainment.

Charlie I'm a season ticket holder for Hockey and Football and go to Baseball games. Beer is 8 bucks a pop. When the price went up to $2.50 is when I paid for my last beer at a game.

Barry,
My son goes all the time with friends, even with free tickets from work it runs him $50 to $75 bucks. Parking, tolls, a round of beer...how much are they getting now for that .25 cent bag of peanuts. Imagine playing baseball for 3 million a year and you don't even have to perform well everyday.

When I was a kid I was a vendor sell those peanuts for a quater a bag. They go for $4.50 now

PEGLEG,WHERE CAN I VOTE FOR YOU ? Thanks Jimmy. When I retire, I may get into politics.... or take up sky-diving... or croc wrestling... or spearfishing sharks.... or testing Tse-Tse fly vaccines.... or cobra anti-venoms... or search for the Ebola source.... Naw, politics is too dangerous (at least while the Clintons are still around).
