These are some Faberge Eggs that were displayed in the Houston Museum in 2014. There are some 46 eggs of the original series of 52 Imperial eggs known today. They were commissioned by Tsars Alexander III and Nicholas II between 1885 and 1916, as Easter gifts for their wives and mothers. Most of the surviving eggs are in Russia, St Petersburg and Moscow, but I know that the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, in Richmond has at least 5 of them.
