WHERE WERE YOU IN 1978? I REMEMBER THAT STORM SO WELL. I WAS STILL LIVING IN THE BRONX AND LIVED OVER A PLAYGROUND. I REMEMBER THE GUYS SHOVELLING THE SNOW. IT WAS IN MOUNDS AND WAS ALLOVER THE PLAYGROUND.
I WAS LUCKY, THOUGH, AS I LIVED IN AN APT. AND I JUST HAD TO WALK A FEW STEPS TO THE PLAYGROUND WHERE MY GIRLS AND I STAYED IN THE RECREATION ROOM. IT WAS NICE BECAUSE THERE WERE OTHER PEOPLE TO TALK TO. TOOK A LONG TIME TO RECOVER FROM THAT THOUGH AS THERE WAS SO MUCH SNOW.
HEARD THAT GRAYSON IS THE FIRST HUGE STORM SINCE 1978.
BY THE WAY, GOOD MORNING - 1/5!

We moved from the Wash DC area to Sunnyvale, Calif in Feb 1977. A really nice area. Snow was available after a 2 -3 hour drive to the mountains (Tahoe, Yosemite, etc).
BTW, I mentioned that I had an MRI a few weeks ago to image a small aneurysm that the docs found in my brain last year. As expected, it hadn't grown, and is still small enough not to worry about too much. Only a very small possibility of it rupturing. I get another MRI in 12 months.

Yeaaaaah... they did find something in the images, to the surprise of many.... At the time, they were trying to bring me out of the 10 day, drug induced, coma, and I wasn't acting "appropriately" (whatever that means?). Gee... I didn't jump up and brush my teeth??? Actually, I don't recall any of it, except maybe some hallucinations .... some of which were seriously pretty funny.
In any case, they decided to scan the brain mass... and they found it! They also found a small bleed out and a small aneurysm. None of which seem to affect my behavior (my wife might differ.. ) I've been told that there is a "small" possibility that the aneurysm could rupture, but that that is not such a bad way to go..... IAC, I am the only person I know who has an image of their brain... I'm going to frame it and hang it in the living room.... my wife might call that "inappropriate" .... but what the heck....

Glad to hear your MRI went well, Pegleg! Good luck in the future with it. Thanks Joan. One thing I've found is that there is such a thing as knowing too much.....
