Just had to share this wonderful day with all of you.
The local flea market called the Market at Marion, donated a full tent for Operation Shoebox to use for the three days this weekend for a yard sale to fund postage to send the deployed troops Christmas Stockings.
Amazing event. Goes on again tomorrow and Sunday. We had donations that even I don't believe and we were busy all day selling, selling, selling.
Our goal is to fund the $15k a month we need for the postage to send our care packages and then for Christmas, filled stockings for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Our Christmas stocking goal this year is 30,000!!!!
I had a wonderful and tiring day but so enjoyable!!!!! I simply had to share how great people can be, donating really excellent things for us to sell and then coming by to shop themselves.
This really is the friendliest retirement town in the country!!!!!
