I received a phone call from Bankamericard this morning questioning charges to my account this morning at a BP gas station in Florida. Told them you're speaking to me in NJ...they cancelled the card and will issue me a new one. Just checked my Credit Report and everything is OK. I will never give my credit card to a waitess again in a restaurant where they walk away with it and bring the form back to be signed...that's the only place I've used it in recent months. Congratulations to the Bank for being alert.

Charlie......................something like that happened to my husband and won't give his credit card out to anyone again! Good they caught it!

I've complained to many restaurant mangers why they don't have cashiers so your card is never out of your sight.

Joe caught a $20k charge total on our BofA credit card. He checks the internet site several times a week just to be sure it is ok. Well, he saw a $9k pending charge and called BofA to tell them that we had not charged any such thing. They then advised him that they had already approved a $11k charge on our card for an internet purchase in California. Joe told them we did NOT use our charge card for any of these purchases. They then cancelled the charges to us; cancelled the account and issued a new card.
It is smart to keep track of your bank accounts on a secure web site. We have a secure BofA site and it requires a special password to even review our information.
A while back we started to receive e-mails "from BofA" telling us that our access to our on line banking was going to be cancelled because we were not responding to email requests for data. Called the bank and hey said NO SUCH emails would ever be sent from them.
I now delete any emails like that and block the senders.
Amazing what they will do to get your credit information!!! I agree with Charlie. Never give your credit card to wait staff if they walk away with it. I am afraid I would be totally ignorant and go with them to the register.
We simply won't use our credit card in restaurants anymore. Don't trust anyone sorry to say.

I recently received an email saying that my Bank of America web sign in has been compromised and that they needed to reconfirm all of my data. SS#, card #, mom's maiden name, etc etc. I immediately called them and was told that this was a scam. I sent them a copy of the e-mail and also reported it to my e-mail server.
Today, while visiting my mom in The Bronx, I answered the door bell. We answer from the living room window, and it was a gentleman saying he was from Con Ed and wanted to check the most recent bill. I sent him on his way!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Good for you Wheezie. TRUST NO ONE. Bank of America told us that they NEVER ask for that type information on the net or on the phone. They will call you into the bank for an appointment if there is any problem. As for the Con Ed guy, you should probably call Con Ed and tell them they have to set up an appointment in advance. 'They will quickly tell you they didn't send the guy. I would also let her local precinct know what happened so they can be on the look-out and maybe alert neighbors.
