This is pure James testimony, not some cut & paste thing.. Ok, as many of you know I'm pretty skeptical over a lot of things... But I've been selling my Maine house for a year and a half with no offers whatsoever... Couple of weeks ago, i read this article which says that if you bury a small St Joseph statue upside down in the property, you'll see the house... It sounded blasphemous honestly, but its a popular thing to do and some catholic websites were actually encouraging it -- and I was getting desperate -- so i did it... A week later AND on last Friday (the 13th), i got an offer and after some easy negotiating, we are now under contract... Now I realize, that under contract is not officially sold -- but its closer than I have ever been with this house... So I'm amazed that this worked... I still think its a bit mean-spirited... I mean it sounds like you're saying to St Joseph "Ok, the sooner you sell the house, the sooner you get out of the upside-down grave" -- But it worked!! Full disclosure: I did drop the price of the house a bit during those weeks which may have helped move this along, but I've dropped the price before and nothing happened... James,
That's funny good luck with the transaction. Always remember the homes in Morris Park, Pelham and Throggs Neck, the Italian families all had statues of " Mary On The Half Shell " in their front yards. Didn't matter how small the yard was there was a place for the Half Shell.

Over 43 years ago my Grandmother bought a statue of St. Anthony for our home and until today he is still standing and in great shape.
Thanks Grandma.

A lot of folks have said the same thing. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. If St. Joseph wants to help, let him help!!!!!

I'm not standing in St Joe's way!!!
I mentioned the St Joseph thing to someone today, and they told me that when they were resodding their front lawn a few years back, they found a St Joseph's statue... Thats bad cuz when you close you are supposed to dig him up and place him in a place of respect afterwards in your new home...
When I moved into my NJ house 14 years ago, there was a Mary in the half-shell in my backyard under some brush... She was qickly relocated to a more visible spot...
